Providing Breastfeeding Education, Support and Lifestyle Integration Services

The World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and the CDC all recommend that infants are exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of life with the addition of complementary foods at that time. They recommend continued breastfeeding until 2 years and beyond.

The American Academy of Pediatrics reaffirms this sentiment with it's recommendation of exclusive breastfeeding for about 6 months followed by continued breastfeeding as complementary foods are introduced, with continuation of breastfeeding for 1 year or as long as mutually desired by mother and child.

While some women come to motherhood with these recommendations in mind, others have their own goals. Any way a woman comes to breastfeeding is her choice, and she should be able to meet whatever goals she sets for herself without any barriers. Unfortunately due to a number of circumstances, we are not set up for success. There are so many mixed messages, suggestions and information available that can in fact sabatoge a mother's chance of reaching her personal goals.

It is my goal to help mothers overcome those barriers and obstacles. I am passionate about helping women reach their indivdual breastfeeding goals while empowering them to follow their hearts and their babies.
